Atlanta Motorcycle Schools uses only certified motorcycle instructors.
Not only are our instructors motorcycle enthusiasts, but through
training and experience, they know how to teach the components of
riding skills to new riders. In addition, AMS Instructors are trained
to properly evaluate and coach riders to improve skills and techniques.
You can meet our instructors on the Instructor
page.

For Course 101 and 111, Atlanta Motorcycle Schools will provide
a training motorcycle based on the riders experience level and physical
size250cc Honda Rebel, 250cc Honda Nighthawk, or a UM DS200.
For Course 102, a 50cc Aprilia Scarabeo Scooter is used. For Course
202, a UM DS200 will be used. For all other courses, riders use
their own motorcycle.

We recommend that you refrain from purchasing a motorcycle until
you have had at least one class with a professional motorcycle instructor.
During your class you will have an opportunity to discuss the different
types of motorcycles and the type of riding you will be doing. By
the end of the session, you will have a much better idea of the
type of motorcycle that will suit your anticipated riding style.
Our instructions will be glad to provide suggestions, however the
ultimate choice will always be yours!

No. Since these courses are not conducted by a division of the
Georgia Department of Motor Safety, Atlanta Motorcycle Schools cannot
waive your requirement to take the Motorcycle License Skill Test.
However, once you learn and practice the correct skills and techniques,
passing the state skill test should not be an issue. It is recommended
that you acquire a copy of the state Motorcycle Operators Manual
and take the written test to obtain your temporary Motorcycle license.
This temporary endorsement is good for six months and will allow
you to legally ride any motorcycle with three restrictions:
- Cannot ride on interstates
- Cannot ride after dark
- Cannot carry a passenger

Atlanta Motorcycle Schools acknowledges that unforeseen events
will interfere with our best planned schedules. If you cannot make
a scheduled session due to a schedule conflict or illness, we ask
that you give us as much notice as possible. You will be rescheduled
to the next available date. If less than three (3) business days
notice is given, a rescheduling fee will be required.

Are courses held in inclement weather?
Courses 101, 102, and the Experienced Rider Course are generally
held rain, shine, or cold. These courses may be canceled in extreme
weatherat the instructors discretion. If the course
is not canceled, dress appropriately for the weather. If you elect
to not ride in certain weather conditions, the cancellation
policy will apply. Courses 201, 202, 301, and 302 may be canceled
in inclement weather based on joint agreement between the instructor
and customer.
